Each discussion will be a differently-styled program and in a different location in order to infuse some variety.<br />
<a href="http://www.facebook.com/events/367609066599924/">This evening&#8217;s Torah on Tap</a> will feature a discussion on trees and the environment, as it will be Tu b&#8217;Shevat, the Jewish Tree New Year at The Nugget on-campus at CSULB.<br />
On March 8th, a Java &#038; Jews discussion about Purim will be taking place at the Coffee Bean &#038; Tea Leaf at CSULB.<br />
On April 10th, Rabbi Drew will be discussing Passover lunch &#038; learn with matzah pizzas being served at the Multi-cultural center at CSULB.<br />
The last session will be taking place on May 1st off-campus, which will be an Ask the Rabbi session with ice cream.</p>

<p>A Jewish learning opportunity for young adults to come together and learn about &amp; discuss views amongst Judaism about the human body will be taking place in January 2012.  This event will be taking place January 10, 11, &amp; 12 in Southern California for young adults to come together and learn in Los Angeles, Irvine, Riverside and Long Beach. Amongst the activities will be a Torah on Tap, two Lunch &amp; Learns, visiting Judaica shops in Los Angeles, and more.</p>
<p>Produced by SoCalJSS and Beach Hillel (and Desert and Inland Empire Hillel and Orange County Hillel), supported by grants {more information to come}.</p>

<p>A big congratulations goes out to the winner of Monster Menorah 2011 and the $200 Grand Prize, Danielle McKellop!  Monster Menorah is Beach Hillel&#8217;s annual creativity competition where CSULB students build a unique menorah to display on campus. Danielle&#8217;s &#8220;Beach Menorah&#8221; used seashells and coral in a beautiful and creative way.  Over 200 students voted on campus and hers was the favorite!  Thank you to all of the participants this year who also shared their talents.  Nitzan Harel&#8217;s &#8220;Monster Menorah Cake&#8221; and Marysa Millers &#8220;The Diva&#8221; were both impressive and innovative.  All CSULB students are encouraged to participant in the competition, so get ready for next year!</p>

<p>Beach Hillel’s original holiday creativity contest will  take place December, 8th 2011.  All students age 18 and older can enter their  own originally designed menorah for a chance to win <strong>$200</strong>.    A menorah is a nine-branched candelabra lit during the eight days of  Chanukah, the Jewish Festival of Lights.  The menorah represents the  light of religious freedom, which pierced the darkness of persecution.</p>
<p>OFFICIAL RULES<br />
1.	All submissions can be turned in starting November 29th but NO LATER THAN December 6th. Submissions may be dropped off with a Hillel professional  on campus in Brotman Hall room 178<br />
2.	All submissions must be transportable<br />
3.	All submissions must be appropriate for public display<br />
4.	All submissions need to be usable as a candelabra<br />
5.	All lights need to be at one level except one light higher than the rest</p>
<p>All submissions will be displayed outside, so if it is electric it  needs to be battery operated (the creator of the Menorah is responsible  for setting up and having all necessary materials).</p>
<p>Any materials can be used to make the Menorah</p>
<p>Any Submissions after December 6th can be displayed but are not eligible for the $200 prize.</p>
<p>Must present student I.D. at time of submission</p>
<p>Voting will be held on campus on December 8th.</p>
