So sitting at work the other day, one of our photographers, Renee (possibly the most pro-Israel Iranian you’ll ever meet), came through our newspapers and started asking us we saw the pro-Israel ad featured in the Los Angeles Times. This morning, I dug through the newspapers, and sure enough, I found it in Wednesday’s Los Angeles Times. It turns out that a good portion of the mighty and influential in Hollywood came out to take an ad to support anti-terrorism action. Do you recognize these names: Bernie Mac, Bruce Willis, Danny De Vito, Dennis Hopper, Don Johnson, Gary Sinise (of Forrest Gump), Ivan Reitman (director of Ghostbusters), James Woods, Kelly Preston (wife of John Travolta), Michael Chiklis (of The Shield), Michael Douglas, Michael Mann (director of Collateral), Nicole Kidman, Pat Sajak, Patricia Heaton, Rupert Murdoch, Sam Raimi (director of the Spider-Man movies), Serena Williams, Sir Ridley Scott (director of Gladiator), Stephen Dorff, Sylvester Stallone, or Vivica A. Fox? They, along with many influential Hollywood executives, put their names on the ad with the following text:

“We the undersigned are pained and devastated by the civilian casualties in Israel and Lebanon caused by terrorist actions initiated by terrorist organizations such as Hezbollah and Hamas. If we do not succeed in stopping terrorism around the world, chaos will rule and innocent people will continue to die. We need to support democratic societies and stop terrorism at all costs.”

Well well well… after all that effort put into “balanced” articles, maybe the LA Times should start listening to the readers for a change!
