Statistics show that 1 in 4 college-aged students (18 to 25) has been a victim of sexual assault or violence. 75 to 80 percent of victims are assaulted by people they know, including boyfriends and husbands. And it is not a female issue alone: in my first years in college, I met quite a few guys who were victims of rape.

April 19 is Denim Day in Los Angeles County, showing support to sexual assault victims by wearing denim and lavender ribbons (the color means sexual assault awareness, like pink is for breast cancer awareness).
